\nDue to the unexpectedly high registration number at NeurIPS this year, we are asked to organise our workshop ASAP. If you think you might be likely to be in the top-10 , please could you register an account on https://neurips.cc/ (please DO NOT pay for the ticket)
\nWe would like you to consider, if invited, your preferred way to attend the workshop. The workshop will be held in person on 14/15 Dec, in Vancouver, Canada. Some of us will be there in person, you are most welcomed to attend in person, or remotely. In both cases, we will secure your ticket to NeurIPS.

I've been thinking about this lately indeed. I'm also curious what others are planning to do - it's quite an investment to attend in person, especially since it will be on my own time and money. But it also seems like a good opportunity to learn and network - what are others' experiences with this conference?
\nA few specific questions to Gordon (by the way, I made an account but didn't enter the lottery):
\nWhen you say 'the ticket will be secured', does this mean that our registration fees will be covered? Or does this just mean we will bypass the lottery?
Would this ticket apply specifically to this workshop, or will we have access to the full conference program including tutorials and such?
We totally understand it is a big commitment and sorry again that we cant support much with the travel. We are of course very happy to have with us, either in person or online.

Winners will get a talk (10- 20 min), we havent decided the exact time yet. We plan to have a panel discussion to discuss the challenge itself and feedbacks from everyone.
\nAs for the number of attendees , tbh we dont know. This is the first time they move the session back to in person. With the record number of registration this year, we hope that it will increase the number of attendees, but we dont know the actual number unfortunately. (it is our first time doing in person too.)
